Outdoor Country Wedding | Clymer NY Wedding Photographers
August 24, 2010 by Heather · 4 Comments
Last weekend we got a change of pace and dropped the church and ballroom for an outdoor ceremony and portraits at Panama Rocks! Its always good to shake things up a bit and we had such a great time photographing it! Everything they did was done so beautifully, there were so many images just waiting to be made
We have been so fortunate that every single one of our weddings have been fabulous and filled with so much love between the bride, groom and their families and friends. Its such an honor to be asked to document such an amazing day for them. Scott and Megan are no exception. They pledged forever to each other beneath a few maple trees and in front of a small gathering of loved ones and kicked off their new life together amidst more than a hundred friends at a rocking reception.

Stylish August Wedding | Michael & Amy Married
August 16, 2010 by Heather · Leave a Comment
No one could have asked for a better day Saturday. Sure it was hot and humid but the blue sky was accented with big, puffy white clouds — it was pretty much awesome for photography! It turned out to be another seriously fabulous wedding for us to photograph! Amy’s fitted lace dress, complemented by Michael’s bow tie and tuxedo set the tone for a classically elegant affair.
The gorgeous couple said I do at Saint Gregory’s Church here in North East, followed by a fun and sophisticated reception at the Bel-Aire Hotel and Conference Center. We were fortunate to have plenty of time in between the ceremony and reception for portraits and we made several pit stops to do just that. One of which was the location Michael proposed to Amy, which was also one of our locations at their fall engagement session.
Michael and Amy truly got the best of the best Erie wedding vendors — their flowers and centerpieces were stunning — their limo was elegant — their DJ had the dance floor packed literally all night — and their cake was a 4-tiered tasty masterpiece! And their photographer? Well, I’ll let you be the judge on that one!

Brett & Anna’s Perfect Erie Wedding | Lake Erie Wedding Photographers
August 9, 2010 by Heather · 4 Comments
Saturday’s wedding at the Smith Chapel at Penn State Behrend was a sweet one. Brett and Anna are two unique individuals and their personalities really showed in the choices they made for their wedding day. Anna and Brett are two of the happiest and sweetest people we’ve ever had the good fortune of photographing and their wedding was the perfect reflection of that — lots of smiles, giggles and love
They are also very talented creatively, both musically [ the wedding started out with the groom playing guitar as the bridesmaids made their way down the aisle ] and with their handmade decor for the reception.
Instead of the traditional sand or candle ceremony they opted for the very cool Love Letter & Wine Box ceremony. I’d never heard of this ceremony before and let me tell you — its awesome! Murl and I want to start doing this for our anniversaries! A little info on the Letter and Box Ceremony for anyone interested: during the wedding ceremony they put a bottle of wine along with letters to each other into the box. Their parents also wrote letters and put them in the box. Then on their anniversary next year they will open the box, read the letters, drink the wine and do it all over again, so each anniversary they have letters to read and a good glass of wine to go with them!! Its so romantic and fun and something to look forward to on each anniversary. Love it! Here is a website with more details.
We had a lot of time to do portraits between the wedding and reception which was really great. And then we headed to the Erie Yacht Club to photograph dinner, dancing and the sunset! It was an absolutely perfect day for a wedding and we got so many great shots. I hope you enjoy these images with more to come on facebook shortly!

Sophisticated Erie Wedding | Amy + J.R. Married
August 3, 2010 by Heather · 3 Comments
After our initial meeting with Amy + JR, I knew their wedding was going to be especially haute. Amy works in the fashion industry and is always dressed to the nines. I knew she was going to look amazing, but she looked even more stunning than I could have imagined. And the men? The tuxes they wore did not disappoint. Amy + JR may just be the hottest couple we’ve ever photographed — they couldn’t keep their eyes…lips…hands off one another! They made our job incredibly easy and were quick to help us create the best images possible.
This was a wedding of firsts for us; it was our first time shooting at St. Jude the Apostle Parish. It was gorgeous with it’s natural woodwork and warm, inviting atmosphere. This was also our first time shooting in the Hemingway Ballroom at the Ambassador Conference and Banquet Center. The entire day was absolutely beautiful.
::love this shot murl found in the stained glass windows at the church::
:: j.r. and his sons watch as amy is walked down the aisle by her father::
::people sometimes wonder if we photograph ‘normal’ group shots. we totally do::
::murl has the coolest finds — this was the lock on the door from the photo before. who knew a lock could be romantic?::
::did i mention how sexy this wedding was?!::
::first dance; great shot of amy’s hair and dress detail::

Clymer NY Garden Wedding | Beth + Cameron
July 29, 2010 by Heather · 2 Comments
We were so honored to be asked to photograph Beth and Cameron’s garden wedding in Clymer NY. Being that Clymer is my hometown and that Beth was my neighbor for our entire childhood through college it made it extra special! We had also photographed Beth’s sister’s wedding in 2005 [has it been that long already?!] and was one of our first weddings ever! This was our first morning wedding and we loved the opportunity of photographing something different. It was also a great choice on their part since it was such a hot day but the morning was the perfect temperature. I adore the vibrant colors they chose for the wedding the yellow, orange and fuschia worked so well together!
Beth and I have always had a lot of things in common and finding our husbands happened right around the same time as well, within a week I think! It was always fun catching up and swooning over our men together
I knew they were going to last, just like I knew Murl and I would.

Raquel + Brian’s Erie Wedding
I’ve been photographing Brian and Raquel’s relationship for quite a few years now and it finally culminated in wedding photography last Saturday! To be honest, I’ve been photographing my cousin Raquel for decades. Wow, that word makes me feel old.
**Begin nostalgic reminiscing** She and I used to spend a lot of time together each summer and we would take dozens of polaroid and film photographs each time we were together. Our parents would take turns deciding who could handle us for a week at a time and it was kind of a city cousin meets country cousin kind of thing. Funny how I thought North East was a big place as a young child!! I then photographed her throughout school and she even made it in my final portfolio at Hallmark
Anyway, we’ve had a lot of fun together and I’m so excited to welcome Brian into our family! **End nostalgia**
On with the wedding goodness! I met up with the girls at Beauty or Beast Salon here in North East for some pictures of the girls getting ready and then followed them down to the Zem Zem Club in Erie to photograph the wedding. Here are some of the images from their extra special wedding day [ extra special due to the wedding falling on both of their birthdays! ]
::her fun zebra ballet flats::
::i’m not sure what was going on here but, i like it! fun shot, murl::
R&B: Can’t wait to show you the rest of the images!! Looking forward to your Beyond Session and we’ll see you soon! Much love, H&M

Dunkirk Wedding Photographer | Shorewood Country Club | Katie & Matt
June 16, 2010 by Heather · Leave a Comment
Last Saturday we photographed Matt and Katie’s gorgeous wedding at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk NY. This was the best beach themed wedding we have ever photographed. From their attire down to the smallest detail — everything screamed elegant beach wedding. There were so many details to photograph, we were in photography heaven
Katie’s dress was absolutely stunning, the cake was awesome and the joyous and emotional vibe from friends and family set the tone for a great celebration.
::the ladies and their lovely hair::
::sand dollar place cards were creative and pretty::
::the card box was even awesome::
::the driftwood added to the beach theme on the cake table::
::love the sandy colored linen over the white cloth::
::paper lanterns were hung everywhere, love it!::
K&M: I knew from our initial consult meeting that you guys would be a fun couple to work with. We had such a great time photographing your engagement session at Presque Isle and your wedding this past weekend. It was great getting to know you guys. Best wishes! xoxo H&M

Erie Wedding at the Ambassador | Siobhan + Bill
May 25, 2010 by Heather · 5 Comments
We kicked off the 2010 wedding season over the weekend in Erie at the Ambassador Conference Center with Siobhan and Bill. We met up with them before the ceremony for a special First Look session. First looks are becoming widely popular with modern brides and grooms. First Look sessions are when the bride and groom meet up prior to the ceremony for a private and special time where its just the two of them the first time they see each other. There are so many benefits to a First Look session but I won’t go into that now, we’ll leave that for another blog post.
We had some great locations picked out for portraits but the crazy rain had us finding alternative locations. We ended up at the walkway between the Bayfront Convention Center and the Sheraton Hotel overlooking the bay and beautiful Presque Isle, where Bill had proposed to Siobhan last year. The rest of the day was spent at the Ambassador — they got married in the Garden Atrium and celebrated in the Crystal Ballroom where DJ Shawn Steele got the party going and the guests were incredibly happy on the dance floor.
Siobhan + Bill — you guys were so great, we were honored to be part of your day! You really are a wonderful couple and your family and friends were so much fun to be around! Hope you are having a fabulous Jamaican honeymoon and can’t wait to show you the rest of your images!! It was hard to narrow it down to even this many shots, there will be these images and more on the facebook page shortly! <3 Heather + Murl
Bridal Show at Peek N’ Peak
A few weeks ago Peek’n Peak had their annual bridal show and we were honored to be asked to the vendors by invite only event. We love shooting at the Peak and feel kind of like we have home court advantage when we photograph weddings there. We know lots of great locations to shoot, some conventional while others make the Peak party bus drivers say “Hmm, no one has ever had me stop here before…” We love that! The more unique and original the better!
Murl and I had a wonderful time connecting with local brides and grooms, some of whom we had already chatted with via email or on the phone and others who have already booked us [ Hi Julia & Aaron! ] and some who had been self proclaimed stalkers of our blog and facebook page. It was awesome to meet you all and we look forward to working with many of you. To everyone we talked to — I hope you have the perfect wedding at Peek’n Peak, I’m sure Kim will take great care of you and your day will be so special
Our booth was set up in the Retreat with some of our favorite vendors — Erie DJ – John Gallagher, Cindy and her husband Tim of Cindy’s Let Them Eat Cake, Phyllis the awesome lady of Acorn Acres, and the girls from fellow North East business Grapevine Laundry & Linen. Grapevine Laundry & Linen put together some beautiful tablescapes while Acorn Acres and other local florists added flowers to each of the tables. Here are a few photos from the day:
::what i really love about this table is the feathers in the centerpiece, great modern-vintage feel to it::
::i adore this flower arrangement. i want it at my house. really bad::
::fun detail shot of one of the fondant cake tops::
::a sweetheart table set for an autumn wedding with browns, reds + oranges::
::love this playful but elegant polka dot and pink tablescape::
::some photos of my fave vendors::
::john gallagher, excellent dj::
::phyllis — acorn acres::
For more photos and information on what type of flowers were used check the Lake Erie Weddings blog in a few days for these images and more!
