MARRIED {Jessica + Lealon} | Southpointe Golf Club Wedding

May 18, 2011 by Heather · 2 Comments

Over the weekend we photographed our first Pittsburgh wedding at Southpointe Golf Club. It was a gorgeous club in a beautiful location and Jessi and Lee are such a fun couple. Add to all that a ton of sunshine and we had the perfect day! It was pretty incredible how the rain stopped just in time for the outdoor ceremony and resumed right around dinner. It couldn’t have gone any better if planned. We met Jessi and Lee at Brett and Anna’s wedding last summer, its always nice to see familiar faces at a wedding :)

A few notes about this wedding before I get on with the photos: I absolutely LOVED the men’s grey tuxedos — they just looked so fashionable and handsome! And Jessi’s dress? Totally gorgeous! I loved that it was ivory and that the look of the dress carried over to the wedding cake. I also love that they did a first look — it gave us SO much time to get a ton of great portraits. Their day was seriously a photographer’s dream!

Annual Peek’n Peak Bridal Show

April 11, 2011 by Heather · Leave a Comment

Yesterday was the annual Peek’n Peak bridal show which we are always proud to participate at this event, especially since its somewhat exclusive where vendors show by invitation only. It was a gorgeous day out and we chatted with lots of brides-to-be and their family and friends. I wanted to share some beautiful flower arrangements and tablescapes to hopefully give you some ideas for your wedding! We had two florists in the Lodge with us who are responsible for these beautiful designs. You can find them on the web at Miss Millie’s Proper Petals and Acorn Acres.

I was really drawn to this particular centerpiece — I love how nature inspired it is. I love the bright yellow flowers with the curly willow adding some fun to the mix but I especially love the zen feeling the moss, black stones and wood candle holders conjures up.

I want to end on this image of a bridesmaid bouquet. This was arranged by Phyllis at Acorn Acres. I mentioned to her that I LOVE brooches and she had a fabulous idea — the brooch is a gift for the bridesmaid. The bride can go antiquing and find some really great brooches and place one in each bridesmaids bouquet that she will get to keep as a favor for being her bridesmaid. I adore this idea :)

I hope this post has helped give you some floral ideas for your wedding or table setup at the reception! Have a great week everyone <3

MARRIED {Andrea + Ben} | St. George & Bel-Aire Wedding Photographer

April 5, 2011 by Heather · 1 Comment

Saturday was a perfect day to get married in Erie, the temperature was above freezing and there was zero precipitation — I’d say Andrea and Ben got pretty lucky for the beginning of April in Erie, PA! I was really excited that the ceremony was at St. George Church on Peach Street — I’ve driven by that church SO MANY times and wished I could shoot there and now I finally had my chance! It was absolutely gorgeous inside and with just a bit of flash the lighting was perfect.

The reception at the Bel-Aire was set up beautifully and I loved the classic black and white color palette that they used throughout their wedding with just a shock of pink here and there.

Oh and I *have* to mention the bride’s headband. Its definitely my favorite trend for 2011! If I was getting married again I would so be rocking a bridal headband! They really convey a lot of style — some are so elegant and romantic while others are playful and fun. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photographs!

MARRIED {Aaron+Michelle} | North East Wedding Photographer

March 14, 2011 by Heather · 3 Comments

We kicked off the 2011 wedding season on Saturday right here in North East. We started out at Vineyard Bed and Breakfast where the bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready and then headed to the Immanuel United Methodist Church. I was so glad that Michelle was getting ready somewhere prettier than the church basement — it helped to have nice available light {not that awful fluorescent lighting} and good looking furniture! They had some great details and I loved their wine themed wedding reception — which had an awesome cheese, crackers, bread and oil appetizer table! Anyway, here are some images from their wedding:

Ed + Amy | Waterford Wedding

November 11, 2010 by Heather · 2 Comments

The time has come for me to blog about our last wedding of the 2010 season. It has been our best year by far and we ended on a high note with Amy and Ed’s fall wedding in Waterford. Amy and Ed got married at the Waterford gazebo on lucky 10|10|10. The sun was shining, the leaves had all changed and these two were so obviously and effortlessly in love. Some people just make our job so easy! It doesn’t hurt when the bride looks like a movie star either :)   We met so many great people at this wedding, the family and bridal party were all a lot of fun and helped make our last wedding an enjoyable one. And I get to mark another first time down from this wedding – that was my first ride in a fire truck! Enjoy the images and as usual, check out our facebook page for more!

Amy + Eric | Chautauqua Suites Wedding Photography

October 25, 2010 by Heather · Leave a Comment

Amy and Eric got married on a sunny Saturday that followed a very soggy week. Due to the sunshine they were able to have their wedding ceremony outside in the courtyard at Chautauqua Suites and it was absolutely perfect. As I was prepping to write up this blog post I popped in Amy and Eric’s cd that was their favor for inspiration and I loved it! I’ve known Eric for about a decade and I thought this was the perfect wedding favor for them to give out, it really matches their personalities!   I also love the new trend that Amy sported — bridal headbands!! Seriously *love* them! Its so modern and feminine.

This was our first wedding at the Chautauqua Suites and we were impressed with their facility and their food — boy do they feed guests well!! We would definitely recommend someone having their wedding there. It was an all around beautiful day!

Lindsay + Patrick’s October Wedding

October 13, 2010 by Heather · 1 Comment

Pat and Lindsay had such an elegant but relaxed autumn wedding at St. Patrick’s cathedral in Erie, and despite the rain we got some great outdoor portraits. After every wedding Murl and I usually chat about the different things each couple and family do and after this wedding we decided that the Roche’s have a pretty awesome Irish beer glass tradition in their family and Murl thought that Pat and Lindsay had the coolest first dance song all year — Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. I agree that it was a pretty awesome choice! I love little things like that that make a wedding truly personal and you get a feel for who the bride and groom really are.  In this case: rock stars. :)

In between the ceremony and reception we took a drive over to Penn State Behrend for some portraits. Lindsay and Pat had met there in college and it meant a lot to them to do their portraits there. There is also a hall dedicated to the Roche family so it was really neat to do some pictures there as well. And Lindsay was so cute and excited about getting her photo taken with her new name!

After that we made our way over to the Ambassador Conference Center where the reception looked absolutely perfect. DJ Barnes had the party rocking hard and everyone in attendance seemed to be wearing their dancing shoes. It was a great vibe and made our job very enjoyable as we captured how much fun the bride and groom were having.

As always, these and more will be up on Facebook shortly — hope you enjoy!

Heather & Nathan’s September Wedding

October 5, 2010 by Heather · Leave a Comment

A couple of weekends ago we had the privilege of photographing Heather and Nathan’s beautiful Harborcreek wedding. They are such a fun, happy couple and I knew the day would be a great one based on how calm and happy the bride was prior to the wedding. Seriously I think she may have been the calmest bride ever!! We had so much fun with the grape color they used in the wedding color scheme at the vineyard and loved her colorful shoes! We got so many great photographs throughout the day and it was incredibly hard to pick just 20 to feature. I hope you enjoy them! These and a few more on Facebook shortly!

::the shoes were a perfect fit for the vineyard::

Heather and Nathan first met at Bootlegger’s, an Erie bar. Since we had time between the wedding and reception we took a drive over to the bar and did some portraits…

::we even got a shot where they first locked eyes::

::i really liked this shot from the garter toss::

Presque Isle Wedding Photographers | Amanda & Josh Married!

September 10, 2010 by Heather · 1 Comment

Over Labor day weekend we photographed a wedding on Presque Isle in Erie for the first time. It was seriously amazing! Sure it was barely 60 degrees and super windy but the bride was determined to have her beach wedding and the sky made an awesome backdrop and made the sunlight diffused and perfect to work with! Amanda and Josh are a perfect couple — they are so sweet to each other and fun to be around.
