Fill in the Blank Friday
April 22, 2011 by Heather · Leave a Comment
1. Fridays are usually my day off. I prep for weddings and accomplish things that I don’t have time to do the rest of the week.
2. Newborn portrait sessions make me terribly happy. They are my absolute favorite subjects!
3. Something that inspires me are books that encourage me to think big and accomplish my goals.
4. If I had the day off today I would go shopping. I need some new clothes.
5. If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say my style is evolving. Now that I spend more time at home I’m thinking more about decor, furniture, paint, etc.
6. Concerning politics I would say my views are kind of up the middle. I think both sides make valid points but both definitely have their issues as well.
7. I’d like to go somewhere warm so I could escape this crappy weather, its seriously bumming me out. I’m ready to sit out on my patio in the sun. Ugh, talking about the weather is so passe at this point but really???
Okay check back soon for a new family session post that’s been waiting for me to hit submit on for a couple of weeks…
Fill in the Blank Friday
6. If I could have 3 wishes I would wish for no more cancer in the world, to be able to teleport when traveling and for time to slow down a bit {its the middle of April *already*??}.

So its already Saturday, and I’m not able to do Fill in the Blank Friday this week — I’m in Detroit this weekend getting inspired by a fabulous wedding photographer from Australia, Jerry Ghionis! It was a great seminar tonight and I’m excited for my next photo shoot to put some ideas to the test! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I’ll be back early next week with a new blog post so stay tuned!

So I recently stumbled upon this fun weekly challenge via one of our 2010 brides, Anna. I thought it seemed like fun, and it would help you all get to know me better! So I’m going to attempt to keep up with this weekly post…at least until wedding season is in high gear…then I may run out of time to do these!
1. The best deal I’ve ever gotten is probably this really cute pair of capri jeans from Express. They were selling for $90 and I went back and forth whether I should spend that much on a pair of capris…decided I’d go for it since they fit so well and when they got rung up they were on sale for $15!! Score
6. My weekend will be spent playing volleyball, shooting an engagement session and having Sunday Funday with Murl — a trip to Southern Tier Brewery for a beer release, followed by a couple of wine tastings and chicken and biscuits for dinner! Pretty perfect weekend!
I’m back! | Erie & Jamestown Photographer
I’ve recently realized I’ve been on a serious blog hiatus. I think at the end of every year, once wedding season is over and the Christmas rush has passed, most photographers tend to hibernate a bit, catch our collective breath and come back refreshed. I’d say that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’ve been keeping busy with photo shoots and moving the studio out of our downtown location. If you like us on Facebook you will have seen some of the sessions that have taken place. Sadly its too easy to update the Facebook page and much harder to blog! I’m hoping to get back on track though
Part of this post’s job is to inform those of you who are not aware that we have closed the doors at the studio location on 89 in North East. My love for lifestyle and on location portraiture just didn’t jive with having a studio space. {I’ve never been a huge fan of fake backgrounds and props} I’m absolutely going to miss my gallery room and having that space to meet with clients in, but I’m really excited to be working from home and trying something new! Nothing has changed in regards to contacting us, you can still reach us by the same email, phone number or on Facebook.
It may be March but wedding season is kicking off for us here in Erie this weekend! We’re excited to start shooting weddings again and can’t wait to blog this weekends wedding on Monday! So be sure to come back to see it. Also here is a sneak peek at what’s upcoming on the blog in the next few weeks:
See you all back here real soon! xoxo
Lake Effect Wreckers Derby Fundraiser | Erie PA Photographer
Today’s post is in regards to the Erie Lake Effect Wreckers Derby girls team [ also known as the L.E.W.D. derby girls ]. I was asked to come out and photograph their fundraiser and membership drive event last night. From the moment I heard Erie was getting a Derby team together I was excited! Not because I thought I was cool enough or strong enough to be on such a team but I immediately wanted to photograph them. I love both action and portrait photography [ perhaps the perfect marriage of photography types that makes being a wedding photographer so awesome?! ] and how can you not appreciate their edgy clothing and sassy attitudes?
Last night I got to photograph an action packed game of derby style musical chairs! More than a couple chairs didn’t survive the contest! It was so much fun to watch and shoot it
It was a welcome challenge to shoot in such a dark, mixed light location — I feel thoroughly prepped and ready to rock tomorrow’s wedding!

::i was so excited to capture this fun motion shot::

Hahah well….that’s the plan at least! I’m sitting here at the studio kind of late [ that seems to happen most nights, but I plan on changing that! ] and am looking over the to do list for the week. I’ve had a ton of images that need blogged and I decided to get it done this week. My goal is to post once every day for the rest of the week, keep encouraging me by leaving comments to let me know you are reading <3 Check back tomorrow for Abbi’s Class of 2011 post. Good night!
