Another California Family Session

This is the second family I photographed while out in California. The parents are so genuine and sweet and their kids share this same attitude and kind hearts. The boys are both very artistically talented and are now exploring their musical talents; it was fun photographing them as they played their instruments 
It was so great that after their session was up the kids were surprised an hour had already passed since they had been having so much fun!
I’ll end this post on a triptych of the boys and their swordfight. It was totally cute that they posed for each shot and after the shutter clicked they moved to a new pose and then another. They posed all the way to their faces – it was adorable!
I wish we would have gotten to spend more time with your family, Solange, but it was wonderful seeing you all!

Celebrating Family with Fun Portraits
Getting the chance to leave the snow behind and photographing in lush California was a dream come true. I have traveled a lot of places but I’d never visited California before. I didn’t believe it would be so green and in bloom in February, it was a wonderful surprise and made for my warmest birthday ever at a comfortable 70 degrees before heading up into the mountains later that evening.
As I was preparing these images for the blog they made me smile so much! This family is so fun and spunky and they just unabashedly embrace life with a passion. The children were aware of the camera but it didn’t make them retreat or act nervous, they just had fun being kids and expressing themselves! It really was a treat to watch them. I’m going to kick this post off with a couple of triptychs of both of the kids; they were having a good time showing me their dancing skills!

California Family Portraits Teaser
Happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to post a couple of teaser shots from the two family portraits I photographed while in California. PS: I skied this mountain!! [ Squaw Valley in Tahoe where the winter Olympics were held 50 years ago ] After only ever have gone skiing at Peek ‘n Peak this was a pretty big deal to me, it was awesome! And it was 55 degrees and we got to ski without coats on, so that was pretty awesome too
Kelley & Mike's Jamestown NY Engagement Session | Jamestown Wedding Photographer
We met up with Kelley and Mike in Jamestown for their engagement session. It was so much fun getting to shoot somewhere new! We saw so many great places to photograph in the Jamestown area and we chose several downtown locations. We had beautiful blue skies and some sunshine to keep us warm on this incredibly cold afternoon.

Heather & Nate's Winter Engagement Portraits

Murl and I got together with Heather and Nate on what seemed to be the coldest, windiest weather we’ve ever photographed in. I think with the wind chill it was below zero! But they were absolute troopers and we had some fun running around North East and heading up to Peek’n Peak for their engagement session.
H&N – thanks for freezing with us, we got some really great portraits! We are definitely looking forward to working with you guys in the warmer fall air later this year though! H&M
Back from California | Family Portraits + Vacation!
We just flew in from California late last night and the trip was absolutely amazing. It was my first time in Cali and we did so many fun things while we were out there. We photographed two families at their homes in Berkeley, which I will share on the blog in the upcoming weeks, celebrated my birthday skiing at Squaw Mountain in Tahoe where my cake read “Heather is 28…and hot!” [ Thanks, Murl! 
], ate way too much yummy food and drank wine in Napa and Sonoma, spent some time at the Pier in San Francisco and best of all, hung out with family that we don’t see nearly often enough.
That is a shot of the vineyards surrounding the Robert Mondavi winery in Napa Valley. Now it is back to the real world [ and the gym… and a more reasonable calorie intake! ]. I will be responding to emails and phone calls starting on Monday. I will be posting both Heather & Nate and Kelley & Mike’s engagement sessions today and Monday.

More Winter Engagement Portrait Sessions! | Jamestown NY Wedding Photographer

On Saturday we had the fun “job” of photographing two different engaged couples. Thanks to Heather & Nate and Kelley & Mike for braving the cold and getting some great portraits
Here are just a couple of quick images to hold you over until I can post a few more in the next week or so. Also — Murl and I are headed for California this week and will be out all next week. Amy + J.R.'s wintry Engagement Session

When we got together with Amy and J.R. for their engagement session we did a somewhat unique take on the usual shoot. It was so cold that day that we did a few mini-shoots here and there so that their noses didn’t turn red and our fingers could still operate the cameras I was all bundled up, wearing my ski pants! It was fun and a bit of a challenge to work as fast as we could. They did a great job and were so easy to photograph. Murl and I are so stoked for the wedding — I know its going to be fun, full of style and at least 40 degrees warmer with lots of time to play!

2010 Wedding Schedule
I’ve been fielding a lot of emails this week about dates that I am already booked for so I want to share with you dates that we do still have available.
Before stating our current open dates I want to share with you someplace I recently stumbled across. I found a pamphlet for the most beautiful location for holding a wedding — The Buhl Mansion in Sharon, PA. Can I just say if you have your wedding at the Buhl Mansion can I please be your photographer?! Pretty please? It looks so insanely beautiful!
Okay on with open dates…
We have quite a few open dates from now through June and in November and December. As for the regular wedding season we have five dates open:
June 5th
July 3rd or 10th [ whichever fills up first will knock out both weekends on this one ]
September 11th and 18th
October 16th.
